13 Days

Ok, my 18th birthday kicked ass! I've had such bad birthdays since turning 13, so I slowly began to anticipate them less and less. I had totally wrote off celebrating them in any big way until this year. I simply decided that I would make it special by getting a tattoo and getting carded any chance I could.
I woke up at 6:30, showered at 7, opened the presents from my father and grandmother at 10:30. Kelly came by a little before 11 to take me over to Longmont to get my tattoo at Tribal Rites (which was his birthday present to me).

We got there half an hour before they opened and, after thet did open, continued to wait for the tattoo artists to come in. Once they did, I consulted with one and sat around even longer while he drew it out. After being in Longmont for over an hour, my tattoo artist came back with a beautiful tattoo that was exactly what I wanted. They checked my ID and gave me a form to sign while my tattoo artist made the drawing into a stencil. Before I knew it, the stencil was becoming a perminant fixture on my foot. It didn't hurt as badly as I expected it to; the sound of the needle makes it seem so much worse than it really is. In some areas it actually kinda tickled, but it was killer when it went over bone.

After we left, Kelly had decided to pull over and let me drive home. We didn't get anywhere near an accident but he did have tips to share with me once we pulled into my driveway. After grabbing a dress for dinner later in the evening and picking up the cake, we went over to Kelly's house for a little birthday... personal time. :)

Dinner at Olive Garden was as delicious as ever. After we finished eating, Kelly and I went to Centerra to see Bad Teacher at 7:00. We came home, ate birthday cake and went to bed. All in all, it was one of the best birthdays I've had in a long time.
